Into Myths and Mythological Creatures:

It seems there are many books based on or influenced by Myths and Mythological Beings.  There are also so many different Myths and Mythological Beings recorded and interpretations depending on religion, belief, and culture. Some are very popular and well known, others not so much.

Myth: (Definition per Merriam-Webster.com)
  1. a: a usually traditional story of ostensibly historical events that serves to unfold part of the world view of a people or explain a practice, belief, or natural phenomenon
  2. a: a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone; especially: one embodying the ideals and institutions of a society or segment of society b: an unfounded or false notion
  3. : a person or thing having only an imaginary or unverifiable existence
  4. : the whole body of myths

This seems to cover about anything in the Urban Fantasy/Fantasy realm to me.

I’m hoping to see authors who would like to share briefly their creature (one per post) or Myth that influenced their character(s) or story, or what their character(s) are based on influencing their books.

If it's a creature, here's a few thoughts to start the thinking process and elaborate on... How did the influence evolve to your creature? What influenced it in your mind? What changes did you make to make the creature your own?

If a myth...
What myth created the 'What if' scenario that birthed a story in your mind, then graduated to pages? How did you grow it to your world, story, characters, and more?

~~~~~~
How does this work?
Mythical Monday highlights Myths and Mythological Creatures.
Highlighted once a week, on Monday. It would be a brief description of what myth or mythological creature influenced you with a character, creature, or legend in your story. Then you can describe a bit about your story the character, creature, or legend in your story that this is based on.
This will be posted on a first come, first serve basis on posting order - by who gets me their complete written post, any pictures they wish to go up with it, and links to your sites first. If you have a new release coming up and want to touch on that, IF the Monday closest to release day is open, I can schedule your post for that Monday ~ the closest I can get for you. I do, however, reserve the right to break the order of receiving and posting if I happen to have several of the same myths or creatures coming in at the same time; for example having several posts on werewolves or vampires. So, if you have a few showing up in your story, maybe touch on a unique one you have to stand a better chance of keeping with the order.
I’m not sure at what speed I’ll have responses. As I start to get answers and posts from authors, I’ll email you back with the day your post will go live on the blog. I’m looking to start getting posts ready and a consistent flow set up so there is no gaps in time between weeks.
I'm hoping you are excited about this meme as much as I am. I'm thinking it's a great way to showcase books and pieces in it to readers.
If you'd like to stop back by with a new book, different spotlight, or can't join in now, you are always welcome to email me to be added to the list at any time.
~~~~~~

How to join in the posts?

I am still sending invites to authors I've read, and waiting for responses. I'll be sending more invites out as I go. So, if I've read your books, check your emails. I'm working on filling the schedule starting January and on through the year. I do have dates scheduled for future dates, but have many free Mondays.

If you are a published author I've not read, email me! We can schedule a date for you.

(I do ask that the posts be kept clean, there are teens that stop by to read the blog and there are adult that don't want to see it all over as well.)

If you would like, feel free to email me requesting information for an estimate of time frame for posts.  Or send your post with the above information to:
     MyWorldinwordsandpages{at}gmail{dot}com
     With Subject noted as:  MYTHICAL MONDAY

I will email you back with the date your post falls in line.

**I do add book images, author bios, author links to where you are found, and any additional images (free or with reference to link to) with all posts.

~~~~~~
I'm accepted! What do I send and when?
Send all information about two weeks before your scheduled date. This will give me time to review and put together the post to schedule it. Yes, review. I want to make sure the post is appropriate for all eyes and not mean toward anyone.
What to send:
    Your post
    Author Bio
    Author Picture (Optional)
    Author Links
    Book Cover Image
    Book Synopsis
    Any free rights images that can be used (Optional)
    Where your book can be found (links to buy)
